Investigation and Research

The Nagoya Urban Institute conducts studies, data gathering, analysis and proposals for policy making with experts, citizens and government officials in order to be one step ahead of new topics related to city administration and city planning and propose solutions.

1. Autonomous Research


Various research programs and analysis are implemented based on specific subjects. The results are presented at meetings or on bulletins and websites so that they are reflected in policymaking for city planning.

● General research
The staff of the Nagoya Urban Institute play a key role, settle research themes focusing on topics related to city administration and city planning, and implement research and analysis in cooperation with Nagoya city officials and experts.

● Citizens research
Citizens who apply the invitation of the Nagoya Urban Institute work in groups to implement investigation and research. Research accomplishments are publicized. Voluntary research activities help raise awareness of city planning.

● Academic research
Experts who apply the invitation of the Nagoya Urban Institute work on research subjects designated by the Nagoya Urban Institute. The academic research accomplishments are expected to form persuasive proposals in policymaking.


2. Entrusted Research


The Nagoya Urban Institute undertakes investigation and research on city planning from various organizations including government agencies, and strives to meet their expectations.
